The Truck Driver/Laborer position requires the ability to safely operate heavy equipment, including but not limited to: truck driving, plowing and sanding, paving and patching, grading equipment, general road construction and maintenance.  Additional duties include general hand labor, mowing, brush and tree removal, equipment maintenance.

This position requires the successful applicant to live with in 30 minutes of the Town of Georgia and maintain a valid Vermont CDL Driver's license.  Pay commensurate with experience.  Excellent benefit package offered.

Invitation to Bid

The Town of Georgia has two used highway trucks, a plow, wing and rear sander for sale and is accepting sealed bids for their sale.

The trucks are described as follows:

#1). RED – 1995 International 4900 DT 466. 8,497 hrs. 124,535 miles. Wood flat bed.

#2). BLUE – 1996 International 4900 DT466. 9,886hrs. 124,973 miles. Plow frame. Dump truck.

Separate sealed bid required for plow, wing and rear sander.

Vehicles and equipment are sold as is where is with no warranty implied or expressed.

The Town of Georgia reserves the right to decline any and all bids.

Bidders must clearly identify which vehicle they are bidding on as #1), or #2) and the value of their bid for that vehicle. As noted above, separate identified sealed bid required for plow, wing and sander.

Deadline for bids is: March 9, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. Bids will be opened at the Regular Selectboard meeting on March 12, 2018.

If your bid is accepted, purchase must be completed within 7 days of your notification of acceptance, by bank check or cash at the Town Clerks office or the offer and acceptance is invalid. Bids may be dropped off in person at the Georgia Town Hall or mailed to:

Part-Time Help Wanted
The Georgia Public Library is seeking a Part Time "Lead Library Assistant:  Programming and Interlibrary Loan" to work 17 hours a week, primarily afternoons and evenings with some Saturdays.  The ideal candidate will pair a positive attitude with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Social media, website maintenance and development, and IT savvy are highly sough.  Experience in the areas of interlibrary loans and programming would also be of benefit.
